Focus: Network Research
The information society is affected by the increased use of networks. Business reduce their vertical integration, merge in Supply Chains and establish cooperations with their suppliers, their clients or even past competitors. By now, computer-supported social networks like Facebook or XING are regarded as quasi-standard of "social networking". Public administrations develop shared services and open themselves to "Private Public Partnerships (PPP)" to take advantages of public and private institutions. Those and other kinds of networks are subject of the ERCIS research focus "networks", which is an interdisciplinary research association at the University of Münster.
